Rotors

Hey, sup yall. It's been raining a lot here lately and especially siince i put rims on, ive really noticed my rotors rusting after a rain. Anyone know of something to fix that cuz i doubt it's good for the pads or for the rotors for the rust to be on there

RE: Rotors

All rotors will rust where the pads make contact, but the cheap rotors will rust all over. From what I've seen, rotors come in three coating types:

No coating - rusts in seconds
Zinc-washed: eventually will rust as zinc wears off
Cadmium-plated: Best of the bunch - will last for many, many years.

I believe all PowerSlot rotors are cadmium-plated.

RE: Rotors

thats completely normal. look at a car thats been sitting out for a few days, it'll have rust on the rotors, even a brand spakin new car. or a car such as urs thats left out over night(clear night), it'll have a thin layer of rust on the rotors in the morning. the moisture in the air causes a thin layer of rust on the rotors, thats why when u first drive out in the morning ur brakes may squeek a lil. its normal, happens on every car, nothing to worry about and ur pads/rotors will be fine.
