Default RE: shocks or springs?...

The car has springs and shocks in it already, they are the stock parts and are a necessary part of your vehicle. Does he mean that you have springs in the car in general, or does he mean you haveaftermarket springs installed?

shocks/struts and springs are two different parts of the car and cannot be substituted for one another. The springs mount onto the shocks and both are necessary.

In the picture below, the shock/strut is that blue part, while the spring is of course, the green spring.

good brands of shocks include examples such as KYB, Tokico, and Koni.

This DIY is only for the rear, but should give you a better understanding of what exactly it is: https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_225963/tm.htm
