Default should i risk a suspension change at some point?

hey all...

i've been around the block with cars. this is my 9th car, and i've had my share of this and that (try a '91 vw van from one extreme - to a 2006 evo IX at the other spectrum).

i'd like to ask - for those out there with the know-how, and the experience in this arena... is it worth it at some point for me to lower my car? i'd be using springs and new struts; no coilovers, i won't be needing anything that extreme. basically, i'm trying to safely lower my car for better handling, but nothing out of control. additionally, a lower ride height might be nicer for the appeal.

i'm familar with spring rates, dampening, bushings, etc... everything that comes into play and gets worn over time. i have an '03 EX with about 29k miles, and i'm basically thinking that it's moronic at this point to destroy my perfectly decent suspension for something that might hack up what i have - and might cost me too much to even bother with.

i'm not interested in speed - because our cars are slow, and i'll have to live with that. if i wanted something quick, i'd buy another evo (that was another story).

anyhoo, for those out there that have success stories with their suspension setups - something that's reliable, fairly inexpensive, and generally fun to ride on and easy to install, lets hear from you. thanks ahead of time.

cheers

very popular and cheap suspension setup is Tein S-techs and Tokico HP and KYB GR2s shocks. cheap, reliable, gives a nice ride, nice drop, easy to install...

yea, they definitely are. right now my ride is really harsh, but i think it has to do mainly with my tiny sidewall tires. i'm ordering new wheels and tires tomorrow though 195/50/15, so i'm anticipating that the ride gets a lot more comfortable.

^dont get me wrong tho, they would make for a great setup for some autox, but i think this guy is more for the cleaner look, little bit of handling increase, and still a somewhat comfortable lowered car lol.

My buddy has a set on his RSX and all he does is b!tch how ruff the ride is LOL

yeah - this is the look/feel combination i've been shooting for.

for the other quote, sorry, no pics up yet. my car is full of salt and looks like poopie. i just purchased a new camera (nikon d90) and i'll get some pics after the next wash. it's nothing special - just a stick 2003 EX with 15" alloys.

thanks for the comments and assistance. just joined this board a few weeks ago and everybody has been quality!
