Slamming my Honda Civic
I have just brought a Honda Civic 1994. I want a set of rims and lower the car, but the questions i keep asking myself is:
What size wheels can I fit on it without it rubbing the arches? I would also Want to lower the car! How low should i go? (mm)!? heres a link of the wheels I were after! Below is a picture of the wheels!! arospeed rs gt's Many Thanks Oli |
RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
for racing 15's maybe 16's
For show I would go with 17's that top of the line not any bigger. This one kid from work bought some cheep 18 and they don't just look like **** on his car but it is slow as hell. But he does't have anything done to the car thats why it is slow. |
RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
i wouldnt lower if it was you, especally(SP?) if you have a bodykit on your civic. but, if you do lower it, i suggest 16s.

RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
Its not for racing, just for show, however if I put 17's on the car wouldnt it look like its on stilts? If you know what I mean! I want to lower it, is that possible if you have 17's - (I dont want any problems like rolling the arches and rubbing etc etc...

RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
Basically it would nice to see some pic's of civics with 17" and 16" alloys.
1. Whats the max I can lower the car with out it rubbing on 16" 1. Whats the max I can lower the car (if at all) with out it rubbing on 17" |
RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
i don't have a picture of my car but, I lowered my car about 1.5" and I have 17's on without problems. Personally, I don't like it when the tire is inside the wheel well. I like the tire to be completely visible. On my car, there is still about a 1" gap between the tire and the wheel well. This is without anyone in the car.

RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
my cars on 17's and dropped, oh say, around 2 inches on coilovers. i have absolutely no problems with rubbing. you can kind of see it in my avatar. i wouldn't go higher than 17 unless you have a european sportsd car or something, like my friend thats getting 18's on his S4. on a civic it just slows you down and looks out of place. i also keep a set of 15 inch toyos for when i feel like realy driving hard :)

RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
Here my 94 hb 2" drop on 17s

RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
I have coilovers and I don;t know how much my civic is lowered, but here's a pic

RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
You should lower your car 2', and put either 17's or 18's on it. I have 18's on my 98 Civic and it is lowered 2.5', and it doesnt do any rubbing.

RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
18's and i had it dropped with coilovers didn't rub...19's rub only when u make sharp turns and i think should only be on adjustible suspensions cause it sits to tall...i don't have a pic with the 18's but 19's in the gallery under absoulute

RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
I thought that the 2' lower and 17's look sweet. But I will not lower them because I am sitting on some sweet ass tires made by bridgstone. THe are potneza's re900 i believe and they corner like a dream.

RE: Slamming my Honda Civic
im running 17's but im also lowered about 2.5". i initially had problems with rubbing, i just rolled my fenders and havnt had a problem since. IMO 17's set my car off.....although track time see's 14" yokos.
