Snow Tire question

My new 2012 Civic ex coupe came with Continental p205/55r16 tires. I have a one season old set of Blizzak snows size p205/65r16 mounted on the correct rims that will fit my new Civic but I'm not sure if I can run them because of the difference in aspect ratio of the 55's vs. 65's. Does anyone know if I can safely use the snow tires? Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

The recommended tire size for your car is 205/55R16. The snow tires you have are a bit oversized. You MIGHT be able to use them, however your speedometer will be off and being a much taller tire, performance will suffer. I know they are snow tires, but snow tires already have a very soft sidewall, with an even taller tire than recommended, it wouldn't be very good. Also with it being a taller tire, you may have an issue with rubbing under hard cornering or if you are a full lock with the steering wheel.

Civicexracer is correct. What I wold do is mount a set on the front and lower the car and turn the wheel completely side to side and see if they rub under full lock. If there is someone with you, have them bounce the front end while you trun the wheels to see if there is any rubbing.
If there is none or very minimal, and you are ok with it, then running them should be fine.
Depending on where you live and access to tools, you could just pit them on when there is snow on the ground and then the stock tires the rest of the time.
