alright so i recently installed my new suspension components which are
megan drop springs all around
and KYB G2 shocks all around
drove great for a little while and then my rear left shock gave out
i got some pics...

as you can see in the first picture looks like the dust shield was pushed all the way down
and the second picture is inside the trunk
looks like the shock pushed all the way through so the car was just sitting on the spring

i took the whole assembly out and after compressing the spring to try to take it apart
i found that the nut at the top of the shock wouldnt come out because its not an alan wrench design
to take the nut off you would have to clamp down the top and then loosten the nut but you can only go so far until the clam just pops off...

its a 93 civic

wtf? did u bottom out real hard or somethin?

 

no friggen clue i JUST installed both and theyre new

 

could i possibly have been missing one of those metal washers that go on the shock inside the dust shield?

 

you must have not have installed the setup correctly or something, that just normally doesn't happen
