Just wondering, I've got a 2001 civic Sedan and am looking to lower it with TEIN springs and want to know if it's a good idea to Stagger thewheels... The speed shop I am dealing with says it will look cool, however I don't want the wheels/tires to stick out. The Dealer suggested 17x7 in front and 17x8 in the rear. What do you guys think?

 

Lol, putting wider wheels on the rear of a FWD car is just beyond stupid.

 

You haven't seen it done before? It's just for looks.

 

I've never seen it done on a fwd. It's done all the time on rwd's because more grip on the drive wheels = less tire spin.

 

i've seen it done on FWD cars before...i don't think it's a good idea...even if it looks better that way. the best would be larger tires up front...but i think that looks funny. i'd just stick to the same sized tires on each end.

 

I'm sure it looks cool for about 2 seconds until people realize what you drive.

 

It does look nice, but not a good idea for FWD. Go to Acurazine and search for Staggered wheels if you want to see TL's with staggered set-up. Plus you can't rotate the tires/wheels. Make the car understeer if you have wider tires in the rear of a FWD car.

 

Yeah, but with one of the Fake RWD Differentials I am making, it would look really cool. LOL
