Hello everyone,

I'm really looking to get some more handling out of my civic(1999 ex). I was looking around and saw these. So first I went on ebay and checkout some prices and they are pretty cheap, like 25 bucks. I was wondering if one of ebay like that would brake under too much pressure or just wouldnt work at all. Also I dont have and endless amount of money to spend on my car so I'm on a budget. Any other suggests on better handling would be great. Thanks, and remember I'm a noob so take it easy on me, been on other car forums and the eat you to shreds if you ask a dumb question.

 

you arent going to notice any difference in the handling with just a tie bar. i have a tie bar but i bought it because it looks good. it might stiffen the suspension some but not enough to buy it just for that.

 

Try strut tower bars, they give the car less roll around turns by reduing chassis flex. It won't make your car any faster from being able to take turns faster, but it feels more sporty.

Sway bars are a great mod for cheap also. A big rear sway will give you a whole lot less understeer and body roll.

if you get a strut bar, don't get one of the $20 ones. All they do is tie the towers together, meaning they still move, but move together. Just spend the extra money and get the 3-point strut bars that bolt to the firewall, which actually does eliminate some body roll.

 

Braces don't stiffent he suspension. They stiffen the chassis. Definitely look for a 3pt front bar, a rear upper, and lower braces. Adjustable anti-swyabrs will also help handling.

If you haven't upgraded your wheels to low-profile UHP tires and lightweight rims, that will help handling a lot as well.
