Default tire inflation question

On my 97 Civic EX there are 2 different tires on it. 3 of one tire and 1 of the other (currently place rear passenger), all the same size. The three tires have a max 36 psi and the 4th says 51??? should i air the fourth tire up to 51 or 36 or something in between? the car does pull some to that side and that tire is wearing on the inside. Anyone have any thoughts?

i would just fill it up the same psi as the one in the rear or whatever the psi recommended in the door jam is (if they are the original wheels for the car). the max psi just means that thats the max psi that tire will hold

Front 2 tires should always be pumped to the same PSI, rear 2 should always be pumped to the same PSI as each other. I think on our Civics it is the same front and back too though, so all tires would be inflated to the same PSI. Max PSI is not the tire pressure you want to use.

Never inflate the tires more than roughly 45psi. The max you should typically inflate them to is around 40psi. You should be fine, and get better gas mileage with all the tires around 36psi.

The pressure reading you saw, 51psi, is a warning to not inflate that high or the tire can blow out.
