Default Tire options

Alright next deal is that I have been reading on the tire reviews and researching a bit. I am wondering what tires would be good for more traction under 10lbs boost. I was looking at the Nitto Neo Gen and the Yokohama PARADA Spec-2 Ultra High Performance tires. Any input or what you have ran with good traction under boost for decent price, not looking at drag slicks or anything fancy yet. Thanks

What's your budget? What size? Daily driven? Only in Summer or have to drive in snowy conditions? Quite a bit of things to factor in when picking high performance tires. Especially when dealing with higher hp numbers.

I was thinking 70-90 a tire. I am looking for some 16's at like 185 or 195, 40 or 50 R16. It is daily driven when there is no snow.

Kind of limited here for you're price range. Won't be getting much grip for that price per tire esp. in a 16in wheel...

You're best options from best first to least:
-Kumho Ecsta XS: 215:45/16 $96 each from www.tirerack.com
-Toyo Proxes R1R: 205/45R16 $99.98 each from www.tiresdirect.net
-Kumho Ecsta SPT: 225/50ZR16 $86 each from www.tirerack.com
-Yokohama S.Drive: 215/40R16 $92 each from www.tirerack.com

That's about it really. These tires aren't really designed for drag racing either. The XS and R1R are designed for autox/road racing with stiffer sidewalls. BUT, they are the grippiest street tires around for that price. Note these are all summer tires aswell.

Well what would be good size like smaller then a 16 inch rim or what, I would like to do 15's if that is better. I just dropped money on tires for my Jeep as well. So I will spend 130 max on a tire right now. Let me know what size is best as well for rim. I just do not want no rubbing issues as well.

I would definitly suggest 15" wheels for performance(lighter) and IMO appearance. If you switch to a 15" wheel and now your $130each budget, you have a few more options.

Again from best to least:
-Bridgestone Potenza RE-11: 205/50R15 $125each @ tirerack
-Dunlop Direzza StarSpec Z1: 205/50R15 $107each @ tirerack
-Hankook Ventus RS-3: 225/45ZR15 $118each @ tirerack
-Kumho Ecsta XS: 205/50R15 $88each @ tirerack

Although I say best to least, for drag racing or street driving you might as well go with the cheaper Kumho XS tire. As far as straight line grip, they are all about the same. The real noticeable difference between all of them is under autox/road race conditions where heat, compound, side wall stiffness, etc... Come into play. You don't need to worry about that.
