tire size/ milage question?

tire size/ milage question?
ok so im swaping the tires on my 96dx with some 14s and im going with a slightly larger tire
http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit
175/70R13 stock tires.
195/60R14 new larger tires.
Diameter Difference: 2.46%
so would i take my milage traveled and multiply it by 1.0246 to get my actual milage traveled, then divide it by the # of gallons of gas put in to get my true milage?
im brain farting right now trying to figure it out...
for instance my last trip 406.6 miles and 11.417 gallons
i figure to compensate for the larger tire it would have actualy gone 416.6miles and divide that by the 11.417gallons to get my true milage?
im trying to get slightly higher milage by running slight larger tires so my rpms stay alittle lower on the highway...
plus i like the looks of the tire and it only came in this size close to stock...
so if i calculate it right ill be able to gain 1MPG by using the slightly larger tires. are my calculations sounding right?
tho the wheels do weigh like 5pounds more, but i figure that shouldnt effect to much. the old wheels where 13s and kinda weak tread. new wheels are 14s and new tires

With that small of increase, most aspects of mileage are negligible considering the larger circumference is better for highway mileage depending on the matching gearing. Plus the difference in rotational mass equals itself out in other ways such as moving the weight to a more dispersed cross-sectional area along the rotating axis. If you're going from too small of a tire to a larger tire, then the results are going to be askew, just like downgrading to too small of a tire from too large of a tire.

well the stock size 13s where proper dx size.
and im keeping the dx with the dx tranny for better mpg driving anyways.
guess ill just have to cross my fingers for alittle better milage... either way i guess i like the looks of the tires more just not the steelies. ill have to paint them or just get some 99-00hubcaps.

I doubt you'll get better mileage. That 5 lbs is rotational weight. Rotational weight is a double wammy when it comes to fuel economy.
Edit... or what Buddy said:
Note to self, read entire thread b4 posting.

I thought a directional tread tire was quieter? (provided you mount it in the correct direction)

so far i dont hear a difference in the sound when driving..... tho i only have them on the front right now. i probably wont buy the other 2 for awhile.... i might have to skip the last 2 tires and skip right too buying some winter tires....
