Well I'm looking at 16x7 rims and should i go 205/40/16 or 205/45/16 or is there another size that will work the best for me? Thanks

 

i like the 205/40s better. the less sidewall reduces flex around corners and gives better handling. but it will also make the ride quite a bit stiffer too, so decide whats important to you (or maybe a GF who doesnt like a rough riding car)

 

ok this is a bit off, but would a 16x7 rim fit a 205/50/16 tire?

my Volk's are 40's and they rub, but I think thats b/c the tires are too wide...

im thinkin the 215's are too wide, go with the 205's. everybody i've taked to said its the best way to go, if you lower than stock.

 

I hate to break it to you people, but 215 or 205 is not the width of the tire. That's the height.

Width will be the middle number.

 

can't be...i've got 215/40's on the front and 215/45's on the back of my civ, and the back tires are taller...

or is it just an optical illusion, or I could just a complete dumbass...
