RE: tire sizes

Ok so idealy you should get a 205/40/17 tire size, that would get you almost exactly the over all height as the stock wheels, which is good so it doesn't mess up your speedometer and don't rub in your wheel wells, etc. Between your two choices the 225/40's are going to be alittle wide but will only be about a 1/2 inch taller than stock. The 205/50's will be 1 1/2 inchs taller than stock, and you don't want that. As far as what the numbers mean, in the tire size 205/50/17, 205 is the measurement in mm of how wide the tire is. The second numer 50 stands for the side wall height, which in this case would be 50% of the tires width of 205mm. Then 17 stands for the size of rim it is ment to fit on in inches obviously. Hope I cleared this up for you, and good luck.

aight thanks man. my speedometer doesn't work anyways so that really won't be an issue for me. i just got th tranny switched out and i just completely doesn't work. used to it would pop in an out. but now its just like, i don't like u, so it doesnt tell me how fast i'm going anymore. which is fine with me b/c i never looked down there to begin with. as for the tires i thnk i will probably just find a different tire. well if i get 50's my car is pretty low anyways i t has a 2 in ch lowering kit on it. came with it wheni bought it so i guess it will raise it up to stock if i do the 50's . i dunno i guess i will just try to find the 205 40's i a different tire. now as for.....

Just remember that if you go with the 205/50's it won't raise your car 1 1/2 inches, thats the total over all height. Only half of that will be touching the ground, so your car will be raised .75 inch, not 1 1/2 inches.
