Default Tires rubbing on Upper Wheel Well

Its been about a year when i purchased some KYB GR-2 Gas Shock Absorbers for my civic sedan. I put them on with some Cheap lowering springs but took the springs off because the bouncing. I threw away the old springs and a friend gave me some from his Del Sol. Now when i have the back sit full my rear tires rub on the wheel well. I sometimes smell burnt rubber coming from the tires. The tires or only 15s. Does anyone know if it is the shocks that went bad or if the springs are to small. The rubbing mostly comes from the rear tires.

if the wheels are aftermarket the offset probably isnt correct.... you got any pictures of where its actualy rubbing? just jack up the rear end and look for rubbed areas in the wheel well.....

if its rubbing on the inner fender lip then you need to roll the fender lips in the rear so they clear the tire if it is lowered...

Are they stock Del Sol springs or are they aftermarket? If they are stock, then somethings definitely wrong with your shocks or you have to wrong offset, because it'd be really really hard to rub with stock springs if everything else is fine.

That's really gotta make you cringe. I would go insane.

The springs should be fine. I took stock springs out of my Del Sol and put them in my old Civic so I could use the H&R's on my Del Sol. The Civic had no problem riding with Del Sol springs. Easiest way to tell if the shocks are bad is to get out there and push down on the back of the car. If the car oscillates more than a couple times your shocks are probably bad. Crappy springs will blow shocks easily. I had crappy ebay springs about a year ago with some Dropzone Shocks and the springs blew the shocks real fast.

The rims are the Honda rims from the 01-05 civics. The 15 spoke ones. The springs that are on the car now are the stock Del Sol springs. But i did have some lowering springs that i got when i purchased the shocks. They were some "Vogtand Spring" so called. And the rubbing is not the fender lining but the top of the wheel well. Ill try and get pics up tomorrow.

What tire size do you have on there?

Do the shocks bounce really bad?

oh, well the stock wheels should definitely not rub as long as the tire size is correct. the stock wheels have 175/70/13 tires on there, correct?

also, did you check to see how the shocks are by pushing down on the back of the car (like on the trunk) and seeing how many times it bounces by itself? If it bounces a lot your shocks are probable blown.

Yea i checked those. I had my sister(seeing as though i only weigh 120) sit on the car and then jump off and the car just went back to its position. Its like it never bounced. It never went up and then back down.
