Default Is this too much.. or is it reasonable.

I took my car to two different car places.
The first one said I only needed rear brake shoes or something to that affect and it would only be about $115.

Today, I took my car to another place and they told me I need front and rear brakes.. and shoes, pads..
I left the list in my car, I'll come back and post it later..
but they want to charge me $250.

What should I do??
Should I just pay the $250 and get everything done and over with.. or are they charging me too much?

Unfortunately, it's up to each shop to determine how much they're going to rip off a unexperienced person. You could go to 10 different shops and they could tell you 10 different scinereos and prices.

pay 15 dollars for a haynes manual and do it yourself. Brakes are very self explanitory.

When you go to the next place, ask them before they take off your wheels if they can show you visually your brakes and explain the markers that show when they need replacing, etc
