What the benefit of having rear disk brake
sup everyone, im thinking about doing a rear disk converstion to my 99 civic 2 door, but i just wanted to know whats the benefit of having rear disk brake over rear drums anyways?
would i just need the caliper bracket n pads and just extend the brake line to go into the caliper ? at least thats what my cousin told me.
but do you guys really see any difference with all wheel disk brakes from rear drums??
thanks in advance for any reply's

You need more than that. You will want to get 99-00 Si rear hubs, lines, pads, rotors, discs & e brake cable. I think you can also use Integra parts as well as Si. Having rear dics brakes is a big difference in braking compaired to the small drums. 60-0 will be much better as will braking in and out of turns. Getting drilled or slotted rotors will make a big difference to.

Check the local auto wrecking yards for a 99-00 Si or a 94-01 Integra this will be the cheapest way to go. If you can find them, most Honda guys have already picked the yard clean these days. Some online companies sell the swap as a kit from JDM modle Hondas. Expect to pay a bit more for the JDM parts even though they are the same as the USDM. In any case look to spend $250- $350 for parts. It is best to get new rotors, pads and lines and find used hubs and calipers.
