Default wheel bearing!?

hey my buddy has a 90 civic hb and he took it to a mech and they said they could hear agrinding around 60 clicksor faster and if u turned a littleand they said it was the wheel bearing this was about 2.5-3 weeks ago and my buddy said he hasntnoticed anything wrong and he dosent hear a grinding noise when he does over 60 or turns. wouldnt it have gotten worse if hes been driving it for about 3 weeks?the mech checked it when they did the thermstat, combustion chamber on his car and hes wondering if he even needs to do it. he dosent hear or feel anything wrong.any thoughts on this??
