Default D16y8 Help

Hey peeps i have a 2000 honda civic si manual. Bought it knocking and on the way to my garage two or more rods snapped and put a couple holes in the block. I have another d16y8 out of a 99 civic si but i was automatic. The intake is a bit different as it has and extra plug then the manual. my question is can i put the head off the blown motor on the block from the automatic? Thx for any help

Im assuming you mean a Canadian Civic Si, which equals a USDM Civic EX?

Yes, the intake manifold is different and yes, the flywheel is different. But the rest should be the same. I wouldn't just swap heads. Leave the good engine together. Just swap the intake manifold and flywheel over.

...Unless you really want to just swap heads, then you can do that no problem.

i have the intake manifold off and they are different the 2000 has the little ports on it for coolant i think but the 99 does not. this is why im wondering if i switch the heads will it work? im hoping its going to be like a head gasket change only putting this other head on instead.
