1998 Transmission problems
 
my sister gave me a 1998 ex 4-door civic for graduation it has 121,000 miles on it!
it is a GREAT car..i love it bt lately it jerks when it goes through the gears like from first to second and second to third

it has never done this before...now my sister bf said he think its some kind of exhaust leak..any ideas?

My girls got a 96 Ex AT. It does the same thing. Also has problems with not shifting down when she's going up hills. I started a thread a while back and someone said could be someone overfilled/underfilled tranny fluid. Also you should always use honda fluids.

srry! its a manual

and yeah the car does not pull when the air on..it does but its like .. ..sloooww and i dont know

could it be lack of tranny fluid?

i don't think it's a tranny problem, maybe something with your clutch, maybe try to adjust your clutch pedal.. low on tranny fluid may cause noise and slightly hard to shift.. well, check the fluid level tooooo...
