Default 2001 Civic Trannsmission Problem

Hey everyone, this is my first post on here so whatsup, name's snugglebunny.

Anyways, I've got an Automatic 01 Civic EX Coupe. My tranny blew about 2 months ago, and so i've been saving up to get another.

I'm tryna figure out which transmissions will fit, i've asked around with friends, friends' friends etc and all the answers i've gotten are contradictory.

Are the transmissions from say a DX civic without VTEC the same as the ones with a VTEC? Will it matter/make a difference?

Are there any other years that would fit? Also considering converting to manual if I can find a manual tranny for cheaper.

Thanks in advance,

SnuggleBunny.

yup i would look for a ex tranny since you have a ex car. The dx and lx will bolt up but dont have the same gearing a ex one will.

none

only difference is that your acceleration will be slightly worse, but gas mileage may slightly improve
