Default 2nd Gear Trouble

I have a 2001 Civic EX and 50% of the time that I put it into 2nd Gear it grinds horribly. Its only when i shift to second gear. If im driving through a parking lot in second sometimes it'll be fine and then all of the sudden it'll grind. I don't know very much about Hondas and I was wondering if anybody could help me out. Thanks.

It definatly sounds like your 2nd gear synchro is on its way out. You can try to change the tranny fluid with some synthetic oil b/c that works better. The synthetic fluid is thinner and it will be able to leave the spaces in between the synchros faster than regular oil and might give you a smoother shift.
