5-spd swap done,but...

I finished swaping my93 Del Sol from auto to manuel, but I am having a problem with the new(used)tranny.WhenI release the clutch pedal it starts to make a grinding sound(does it even in nuetral) like a bad bearing. It seems to shift and drivefine. It's just making a lot of noise.Do you think there's a fast way to fix it or should I look into buying another tranny. Thanks for your input.

im willing to bet its either the input shaft bearing or the throw out bearing..........both require the transmission to be pulled out.the isb requres the transmission to be dismattled. to inspect the tob you will need to remove the transmission and spin the tob by hand. it should be smooth. to inspect the isb you will have to remove the transmission then grab the input shaft and shake it left/right/up/down..any movment would mean the isb is bad.

Thanks forthe reply,I already changed the TOB,clutch plate, flywheel, slave cylinder, and pilot bearing. So that would only leave the ISB.I guess I'm going to have toget down and dirty with the Del Sol agian.

here's another tip: if you replaced your clutch, you need to make sure it was perfectly aligned with an alignment tool.

if you didn't use the tool, then you'll get crazy noises. but that's only IF you replaced the clutch.
