97 Civic EX automatic question

Hey guys, new to Honda performance but not new to racing.

I have an 97 Civic EX with a 1.6 SOHC VTECH and automatic tranny. It's my daily driver but I am wanting a little more out of it. But before I start bolting on parts, I wanted to know what the tranny can take. Where do they break and can they be built? What is a good Hp/Tq limit for them? Can the converter take a 35/50 shot of nitrous?

Enquiring minds want to know...

RE: 97 Civic EX automatic question

50 shot should be fine, but not much higher. Swap in a manual because if you use the nitro enough your converter will probably be the first thing to go. They can be rebuilt, but it's cheaper to go pick up a 6 pack of them at your local junkyard. ;)
