Default any truth to this?

OK...I read somewhere that neutral dropping and gear ****ing an auto-tranny is actually good for your car...?

Ha, ha, sorry, bringing up an old thread. No, the real question is...and I heard this from a mechanic who use to work in the BMW plant in germany...is that resting your hand on your shift **** puts preasure on the gears, screwing up some thing or another.

Well, maybe this was only common for BMW's or cars made in the 80's...? I dunno, but I've never heard anything like it...maybe someone else knows whats up?

Wow... keep trying that and see if it does anygood for your car. BTW, go jap-slap the living **** out of the person who told you that. I from first hand experience learned that neutral dropping isnt a pretty bill once its broke.

I often rest my hand on the shift ***, havent had any probs yet. I think hondas are a littlel to modern and well built to worry about a little thing such as resting your arm on the shifter.

well i can understand that over time if the car is in neutral and you rest your hand on the shift *** it can tend to make the gears lightly rub.......then that can wear down the gears and give you some problems(for mt not at). at least thats what i was told when learning how to drive.
