Default CEl=On D4 Flashing

99 DX. It's a tranny out of a 98 EX. Driving down the highway no problems- then they both came on. Any clues or what do I do from here? Still drives just doesn't shift on it's own.

Need to check the code for the CEL. Heres a link on how to do it. Once we know the code then it'll be easier to determine what the problem is.

It appears to flash 7 times. They are a long even flash. The D4 light flashes 8 times.
Did I do this right? There is a AutoZone semi close. Would it help to have them pull the code?

well 7 long flashes (1 second each) would be code 70 which I dont see anything for that code

if they were 7 1/2 second flashes then that would be code 7 for throttle position sensor.

I'm not sure what the flashing D4 light indicates.

I know maybe one or two are long. The rest seem to be faster? It's hard to tell.

How do you time the flashes?

you should be able to tell when the light starts flashing faster or slower. Its important to know how many long flashes and short flashes there are. Maybe take a video of the flashes if you arent sure and upload and we can determine the code for you

ok I'll try the video thing.
When shifting from P to R or D it goes into gear hard. If that helps you figure it out any.
I'll go take the video and come back. soon.
