my hx got almost 190 thou miles on it and i def know i need to change the transmission fluid it's dirty brown blah blah what i was wondering is could i flush it and get all the old dirt and grime sucked out? i was going to but someone told me it might fall apart cos sometimes that dirt and grime is what holds it together over the years if it's old. this transmission is effed pretty much. when sitting at a dead stop or starting to come to a stop it lunges and jerks. the acceleration is slow as hell of course too. i pretty much figured it out myself but honda had told me it's stuck in 3rd gear and that's the reason for that. i was wondering if changing the fluid could help that or fix it? or just need a new tranny.

Usually (IMO) when a transmission hasn't been maintained and had the fluid changed, that dirt is what holds it together. In your case, it may be worth a shot to change it and see if it helps. Trying that is cheaper than replacing the tranny. If that doesn't work, you know what you have to do...

DUNNN DUNN DUN DUN DUNNN! haha i'm hoping this will work. i go to school for collisionrepair and there's an auto shop right next door i might try and bring it to them and see if they can hook it up to that machine but it just takes so long before they'll actually look at it. i hear those cvt trannys are nothing but problems along with the honda slap shift.

Yeah basically. Good luck man

I've heard it's safer to do three consecutive drain-and-refill cycles with a short drive in between. Be sure to use Honda or Honda-recommended fluid.

DONT USE THE NORMAL HONDA AUTO TRANS FLUID!

USE THE SPECIAL HONDA CVT FLUID!!!
