d-series tran. work with b-series motor?

a friend of mine is gettin a great deal on a b series motor.... but JUST the motor. Its outta 99 si civic and he wants to put it in his 00 ex sedan.... will his stock tranny work?

this may be more hypothetical than I am letting on....

no a d series tranny will not make a b series engine.

Well hes gotta get a new trans too then, a type R tranny would be a good idea.
