ok i have the hx tranny in my car (really long gears) and i was thinkin bout switchin to an ex tranny for the power the thing is im livin in idaho right now and my famly is 8 hours away in oregon so i spend some decent time on the highway when i go over there. My question is for those of you who have an ex what rpms are you running at say 70 and 80 mph?

 

bump. come on i know there are lots of people here who drive 96-00 ex's

 

Changing the transmission won't add or remove power, it just changes the gearing (which can alter speed). Tell me what size tires you're running and I'll give you approximate rpms for 60-80.

 

get a tranny from a d16z6 or a y8

 

the tires are 205/50/15 so it wouldn't make any power difference just faster acceleration maybe?

 

Mine rev up to 3k rpm at 70mph.

 

ok sweet the real question is is it going to really make that much of a difference in accelleration if i swap?
