Default HX to EX tranny help?

hey guys i have a question with the hx tranny,
this might be a stupid question but im a newbie with civics, i drive a 5th gen celica. but my older cousin which doesnt know how to use a computer, has an hx with the stock tranny and its going bad and he was wondering if an EX tranny would work with it but he's heard stuff about the CVT though. he was wondering if it will bolt right up and work because the EX trannys are not as expensive as the HX tranny's let me know whats up with that... bongbbreakin@aol.com
thanks
rog

If it's the 96-00 HX manual then it will definitely work with the EX Tranny. CVT in the HX was only in the automatic tranny's, is this auto or manual? If it's auto it already has the CVT and they suck. The Ex tranny will make your car quicker too.

im willing to bet it will still work, but he'll need the hx ecu from a manual car, and he'll also need a flywheel and clutch.
