I have a 1997 civic ex and I believe my linear solenoid is clogged. I have read that this is fairly common for this year make and model. My question is where exactly is it located on the transmission? Once it is taken off can it be cleaned versues being replaced?

 

i have a 97 ex, and i'm guessing that you have an auto trans and not a manual, cause i dont know of a linear on mine... can someone tell me what a linear sol does?
