Loose shifter

1 Attachment(s)
I've noticed that my shifter had become really really loose, so i jacked the car up and noticed that the shift linkage is really loose.
Is it supposed to be like this...? lol

I moves a lot from side to side. And i think thats the reason getting into 2nd and first is kinda hard. well not "hard" but it feels like as if i wasnt pushing the shifter all the way to the left.. if that makes sence. like not ligned up correctly.

Thanks :)

I'm no expert, but it looks like your missing a bushing....

thats what i thought too, It has 2 rubber rings around each end.
But the rod holding it together... i dont know how i would go about taking it off.
both sides of the rod are just round, so i cant use a rachet to unscrew it or anything lol
Im guessing its all just one piece?
but it doesnt look right, does it?

EDIT:
Im guessing that i have the problem that addiction2bass had, https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...ad.php?t=61868

Bump..
is there a cheap way to fix this? kinda bugs me lol, all gears feel like if the shifter was in neutral.

Dont really wanna have to buy the whole linkage rod, since i'll be swapping it all hopefully in a few months..

I dunno....I don't really have any ideas...

Maybe you can find something to shove in there? Not sure if that's a good idea lol, but it's all i got

I was thinking of grinding off one side of the screw holding it in place, putting a few rubber rings on each side and getting a screw the same thickness and putting a nut on the other side to hold it all in place.
i might just end up doing that this next weekend.

guess nobody knows..lol
