New clutch breaking it in.
Hey guys,
I just got a new stage one clutch and new flywheel put in. The clutch feels amazing and I really prefer this clutch over stock. I just drove it for the first time and I was wondering if it is true that I need to "break it in." I've heard that I should drive it pretty hard and I have also heard that I should be shifting very easy for the first 300 to 500 miles. So which one is it? Thanks Brock |
Shift slowly, i.e. let the clutch out slowly. Don't take it over 3000 RPMs or so except for in 5th gear since you need to go a little over 3k RPMs to drive 65-70MPH on the interstate. Keep in mind that to break it in you need to do a lot of starts and stops, not just cruising on the highway.
And yea, for the first ~500 miles |
