RE: shifting into reverse problems
Do this: when it doesn't go into reverse easily, let go of the clutch with the stick in neutral, press it in, wait 5 seconds and voila. Should work.

RE: shifting into reverse problems
or with clutch depressed shift into 1st then 2nd and go straight to reverse. works like a charm for me.

RE: shifting into reverse problems
Yea, that too

RE: shifting into reverse problems
on a side note, do your cars make a funny noise while in reverse? like wumwumwuwumwum... gradually getting faster? Mine just doesnt sound as smooth as i expected i guess

RE: shifting into reverse problems
Yea it does. I think all standard cars sound like this in reverse.

RE: shifting into reverse problems
ya ,im sure all standerds sound like that when u reverse, but thanks for the tip, so this is not anything wrong with my tranny then??? or is that just the way it is?

RE: shifting into reverse problems
It makes that dumb noise in reverse because your reverse gear in the transaxle are straight cut and not cut at an angle. If you ever hear of a dog box tranny, they are synchroless trannies all gears are srtaight cut and they whine like that in every gear.
Shifting into first will do the trick because you are lining up the synchros. |
RE: shifting into reverse problems
you probablly would get a kick out of seeing an actual trany dissasembled
