I really don't know much about trannys at all. Kind of sad really... anyhow, are 1.6 and 1.8 trannies interchangable? I will be getting a Type R motor with the hopes to change the bottom end to a Frank set up. Which tranny should i use? What can be said about LSD trannies, what sort of difference do they make (having never driven one)?

may i suggest you not buy a type r engine due to cost(unless its a deal) just to toss the bottom end. dohc vtec heads can be had along with ls/b20 bottom ends for less than a complete type r. the b-series transmissions in the civics, and integras are interchangable to an extent. clutch splines, clutch actuation are different between some generations. the most sought after transmissoin from what i gather is the type r tranny with lsd. lsd is nice, power is almost instant(less wheelspin), pulls through corners easier.
