Transmission help
Hello all, I've never posted here before, but I need a little help. I come from a Jeep background and have build many, many jeeps and currently compete in Werock. But, now my daily driver needs a little transmission work, and I don't know a whole heck of a lot about them.
I needed a new throw out bearing because it was making noise, so a couple days ago I put a new clutch in it with pressure plate and throw out bearing. That cured one noise, but was also masking a noise that is still there. So, now after reading on here and talking to a couple people more educated in Hondas than me, I realize I need new main shaft bearings. I understand how to change those, and it shouldn't be a big deal. Here's my question: the other day, I went to remove what I thought was the fill plug. Turns out it wasn't, and I'm worried that the bolt help something in place, that could possibly screw up my tranny. It was on top of the tranny towards the passenger side, it bolted in from the top to bottom, was one of the small ones, with a 12mm head on it, and had the washer built into the head of the bolt. Also, it was towards the back half of the top of the tranny. I cannot find an exploded diagram to circle the bolt, but if someone had one from the top looking down, it woul be very helpful. I guess my main concern is that the bolt held a detent or something in place that held a shift fork in place. Any help is appreciated, and go easy on me, this is my first post. Thanks, Clayton.

Did a spring and ball bearing come out when you pulled it off? If not, you can just put it back on and not worry about it too much.
If you're looking for the drain plug it's facing the pass side wheel and is a square bolt. You will need to pull the trans off and apart to get to the mainshaft bearing.

Yeah, I know I'm going to have to pull the tranny again, and I found the fill and drain. I didn't see a spring or ball come out, but I'm going to pull everything apart this weekend and change the bearings which hopefully fixes my problem. I'll have access to alldata this weekend and will double check the bolt I pulled.
