Well we would give you advice on it but the parts to upgrade a automatic honda transmission are simply not out there. The only thing I can think of would be a custom tq converter which would be ok I guess but not add to the strength of the transmission itself. The bands in these transmissions are weak and there is noway around that sorry.

yea ZEX makes a tough torque converter, but even if the torque converter was the reason the tranny sucked (which it isn't as you pointed out) the ZEX one is like $800, making it a waste of money.

I wouldn't jump to banning this guy that's just retarded.

madjoker14 you really have nothing to be scared of by going manual my last 2 cars were Automatic. I did know how to drive manual by driving all my dads vehicles, but it sure wasn't my DD. Now that my car is a manual I have no idea how I drove an automatic for so long. The best advice i could ever give to you is switch to a manual.

My Civic is a commuter car for me so my reason for getting an automatic was strictly for the fuel economy. According to Honda the 8th gen Civic with automatic tranny gets better mileage than the manual.
Anyway, I've driven it now for 3 months and kicking myself for buying this car with an automatic. I'm sad to say that I'm strongly thinking of selling it and buying an '09 with the manual transmission. Even though it's life has been commited to commuting, it's no fun without the stick. I had more fun <<Gulp>> with my Ford Escort with a 5 sp. manual transmission.

I see where you guys are coming from with this, and i will deff agree that geting a auto over a manual is an expensive idea since many people dont know how to work with them (which means paying someone more money), i will deff reconsider the auto but still would like to see whats out there for the auto trani.

I'll do some info search and post what i find, like i sayd before the Ms.Prez of some car club has a auto civic and she claims to beat manual 5 speed civic with eas, will try n get more info off of her and post but thanks for the comments so far.

Ohh and BillyB98 sorry for thinking outside the box,i'll try and stick by your rules next time

def. manual trannies have more power and could be funner to drive but i agree with madjoker standing out of the crowd and keeping up with a 5speed or beating a 5speed in a race could be all the better good luck with your research =]

An automatic with paddle-shifters would work.
