Default Just curious about power gains

I was just wondering if everyone here could give me a few suggestions as to what kind of mods I should go for after I get the exhaust system on. In a few months I'll be receiving my tax refund which should be about $1000 and Im goingt o spend about 500 of that on my car. I do know I will for sure be getting a header but it wont be coming put of that money. So I was thinking do stuff like spark plugs and wires for sure. But what are some other suggestions that will give me a little bit of a gain?

Ok well I haven an AEM intake its not a cold air though its a short ram, the reason being I live in Oregon and the rain here sucks. However no high flow cat how much do they tend to run? Anywasie what other things are good bolt on type stuff.

if your looking for efficiency and access to more power safer i would buy an msd ignition box w/ limiter and timing retard if you want boost or nitrous. and convert to an external msd coil and new cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. These parts will give your car a bit more power but it will make your car safer to run at the limit especially if you have a lot of bolt ons/ internals in the future.

All that isn't really gona help if all he's got is an intake. It might give him like 1 or 2 hp.

You can get it for cheaper if you know where to look.

****. take that money from the header. and get a 14b turbo off someone. then u have 500 left from the taxes. get the other stuff. cheap side mount from a tsi or gsx. they go for around 30 bucks. then get some to fab the pipes, get someones gagues for cheap. **** u could get a turbo but on for around 900. just dont boost over 7 psi. and boom u have power.

i got a prefect 14b for 80 bucks but that was off a friend . should get one for around 150 easy.
