Nail I3unny 01-11-2006, 03:11 PM www.jdmcustoms.com ^^not nearly as good as sunrise per say but they'll include mounts and install a type-r LSD for you for like 300 bucks. ps. why b18c5? why not the gsr? GotRice?99ex 01-11-2006, 05:42 PM Why not B18C5? AgentofDarkness 01-11-2006, 06:39 PM The C5 has a higher compression ratio and if your considering FI, it might not be the best choice. Plus it is way more expensive, i think its around 4k and the C1 is around 2500. For the extra 1500, you could buy some sweet internals for boosting at a later time. BallardCivic 01-11-2006, 08:03 PM Yeah, go GSR. The C5 might have more horses stock, but youre gonna have better luck with after market stuff if you go with the C1. Nail I3unny 01-11-2006, 09:57 PM the gsr head flows better too. GotRice?99ex 01-13-2006, 12:44 AM kk....hrmm...I like the GSR price better but i dont have anyone here in BFE Iowa to do the internals....wat do you guys think about the B16b? Yay or Nay? Kappa22 01-13-2006, 01:12 PM Nay. It's essentially a GSR with less torque and a higher price tag. They don't take well to boost on stock internals, since the compression ratio is so freakin' high. Unless you're building it to be a one-of-a-kind show car or you're planning to do some serious work on it ($5-10k+) it's not going to do you any favors. That said, it's an awesome engine. Nail I3unny 01-13-2006, 03:17 PM ^^^ do you know how easy (or hard) it is to get a CTR head? Kappa22 01-13-2006, 03:43 PM Probably not too hard if you look around. For an NA build on a GSR or ITR though, people will often just use a B16 head, CTR intake cam, ITR exhaust cam, and CTR pistons to raise the compression. Without going aftermarket, this is an incredibly potent setup. Nail I3unny 01-13-2006, 04:00 PM on a turbod car would it be worth it to look for a CTR head? Kappa22 01-13-2006, 04:07 PM Nah. Especially since the B16 or ITR head will work equally well, if not better (give it up for factory P&P!:D). |
