I'm having two problems with my parking brake. 1. It is not tight enough and if put the car on a hill i have to put the car in first just to keep it from rolling. 2. My brake light comes on when i accelerate moderately. I just did a bunch of work on the rear of the car and had to play with the drum brakes on both sides. My question is... why is my brake light coming on if my brakes aren't even tight enough?? I used to have my e-brake waay tighter, which it will be soon when i tighten the heck out of it again, but if my brakes aren't tight now and the light is coming on... i'm thinking the problem is going to get worse when i tighten them. I heard you can also adjust your brake by going in reverse slowly and pulling the e-brake up? Any suggestions would be great, I'm kinda stumped.

hah, yes i did check the brake fluid. I think it's actually the passenger rear brake locking up. I didn't think it was tight enough but then I went backwards a bunch of times and pulled up the e-brake, i think i overtightened it. My bad. thanks for the help
