HCF Project Section - Motor build stage "3" (6-26-08)

:D:D:D:D Were almost ready to move into stage 3 and assemble the whole motor. My bearings came in from honda and lets hope there the right size this time. Heres some pics of everything. If all goes well i should put the motor together tomorrow im hoping:D Got my OEM oil pump in today and got her shimmed and ported out so shes good to go. let me know what you think. i also got my rings gapped as well

bearings came in today and got final sized up then started phase 3 of assembling the longblock:D:D Enjoy

hey just wondering where do you order most of your parts from im having a hard time finding d16y7 parts. also do you know how much it costs to get the y7 head ported and poslished in exhaust and ported in the intake?

what all parts are you looking for? a lot of the y8 parts will bolt onto the y7. Whats your budget on the head work?

haha HIS costs? or a realistic build cost....I have a word document typed up of my projected costs for my project if you want

realistic im really only trying to make low 200s with boost so ya i dont need that many n/a parts im thinking rods, connecting rods, ported and polished head cam shaft maybe some other odds and ends.

wow dustin, i've been so absorbed over at honda-tech and turbod16 that i haven't taken the chance to come back and check out hondacivicforum in almost half a year. i'm glad that you finally started to make progress on your own engine build:D i know business has been good, i've been following your thread over at turbod16. Vouch to dustin, he does great head work!!!

shes getting there, got my billet mounts, got my flywheel surfaced, and got my edt traction bars ready to go. im working on rebuilding the tranny at the moment and putting in the lsd

do you guys have the capability to resurface flywheels?

yeah we do:D:D

been working hard of paying down the old bills. got my azenis tires, prepped and painted my front suspension components. have brand new tie rods, wheel bearings, wheel studs, lugnuts and ball joints for the front. Got a new shop press for the business that works wonders, got all my tranny parts ordered from honda, had 23 new parts i figured i would replace since im in there, the lsd is all ready to go and be put into the tranny. getting ready to order my action 2ms as well.:D The pictures work just have to click on them, dont know why they dont show up

little update, the motor has about 20 miles on her so far and shes getting her new 3in exhaust tomorrow, all mandrel and vbanded with a race can out the back. Might as well do it right the first time so when i go turbo im ready

i would say probably 120hp, no dyno yet i am at 420 miles on the motor so far without any problems. as for the turbo kit everything is going custom, i got my mandrel aluminum 3in on the car currently and will get some pics tomorrow

and the heart beat of the car been driving the car hear and there got almost 3200 miles on the new motor

its tough paying for every part out right without throwing it on credit but its worth it in the end. and paying big chunks of credit off at the same time. but its almost done dont want to rush anything and start changing the plan
