today while driving too work i noticed my eg was shifting funny, it was sticky while shifting which im sure was do to the cold but then this happened, when i moved the stick out offirst to shift to second gearit came out of 1st gear without putting my foot on the clutch, however to get it into second gear i had to put my foot on the clutch, is this normal and does this mean anhything about my tranny???

If you catch the moment it goes pretty easy. I often go from 4-5 to neutral without pressing clutch. The trick isletting off the gas while applying pressure to the shifter, at some moment it just slips to the neutral :)

If you match the speeds of engine and wheels, it will just go in like knife into butter...

Hmmm, I guess it depends on the amount of pressure [8D]

Its called rev matching. If you match the exact given revs your engine will be at in a given gear at a given speed the stick will slide in and out ofgear with no clutch. Just be careful when doing this cuz you can get some pretty sweet grinding out of it if you dont match it up right.
