Default Maxxsonic amps

Sup guys,

I just bought some Polk db6500 and Polk 690. I also bought a Crunch PowerZone PZi100.4 amp. I went to try to get it installed said it would cost about 350 but while i was there they recommend that i return the crunch amp and get something betterbefore i install. What do you guys think? Is the crunch amp to crappy for the speakers i have? I'm not running any subs or anything like thateither. Thanks!

Am I the only one that's never heard of Crunch?

Hey, looked it up, they are the dudes the make MB Quart I guess, I just skimmed the webpages.

Not sure about the amps though, but if they any bit as decent as MB Quart High's used to be, I guess they are ok.

I would think 100x4 would be pretty decent.

I had 2 crunch 10 inches in a bandpass box in my thunderbird and it was wayyyy nicer than it should have hit/sounded... and they've worked for years and years.. for my brother... and the last 1.5 years in my T-bird.. and then then with alpines in my honda .. so, if thats any indication of there quality.. it's not too bad.. though it could just reflect there subs ..

thanks for the info guys. it seems the amps are mostly used for subs. I'm not really a sub person. I just thought an amp would help make my speakers sound better. I think i'll stick with this one unless someone else says other wise. Thanks again

alright i got my stuff installed today. wasn't very impressed with the sound..dont know what it is. maybe the fact i didn't install the crossovers that were provided with the db6500s. ori just have to tune the amp correctly. I do have one issue I was wondering if anybody could help me out. I hear a high pitch sound at low volumes. It seems to be in sync with when I step on the gas. It gets louder when I accelerate. It is very annoying. does anybody know what it is and how to stop it? Thanks

Sounds like a ground loop noise, might need a ground loop eliminator, or noise eliminator, or you ran your RCA's too close to your power wires, etc... Could also be a poor ground on the amp, and or the head-unit.

I am not the smartest at tracking down sounds, but that does sound like background noise.

Here's a link to some information that might help you track it down, it gives some standard points to eliminating noise, without buying a product to do it for you. Most of them are pretty obvious, but read up, its good stuff. This page should help you correct the problem yourself.!
