Default Civic Ferio

Hi, My daughter has a Civic Ferio 1.6 "L" 1993 imported model and the ECU has blown a capacitor and is now useless. I have tried to find a replacement ECU but drawn a blank. Does anyone know if the ECU is the same asone of thehome market models ?
Most of the markings on the car are in Japanese the only number readable is EJ3 1001318 on the vin plate. The ECU is marked 37820-P91-901-735-301281 AWY.
The capacitor that has blown is C14 it has burnt a hole in the board.
I would be gratful for any help.
Regards Mike

Hi Marty, Thanks for that do you know if there is any protection device for the ECU, I have had the damage on the board repared but, the the engine turns over still wont start, what should I look for on the dash as a possible indication that things are amiss or are ok ? everything else electrical works fine, does the ECU only control the engine ? I read on here about an engine relay could this stop the ECU from working ?
Best regards Mike.
