Hello all. I have just purchased a 1986 hatch with an auto. The auto is very noisey and makes a strange sound when putting it in drive. I have not road tested the vehicle as it is not registered but it doesn't sound good just getting it off the car trailer. Is an overhaul kit available for this auto or would I be better ditching it and putting a manual in? Has anyone changed from auto to manual in this model? What do I need to get from a wrecker? What year model transmission can I use with the EW2 12V engine?
