Since I have owned my civic there has been so many people with ford focuses wanting to race me. Is there some kind of hidden race between civics and focuses? Now I havent tried to race any of them ( I got my civic just as a daily driver) but I have no idea how my civic would hold up against one. (its a 2000 two door ex with the basic h/i/e. Or do people just wanna race cause I have a civic?

Not really i don't think. The only reason I can think of is the civic is a economy import and the focus is aeconomy domestic . And you know how the domestic vs. import thing works....

Most likely kids that just don't like civics, and want to somehow demote them.

 

I havn't had any of them try to race me but there are a like 4 Riced up Ford Focuses (if that makes sense) that have crazy graphics and wings....looks like they have decent catback systems on them...but they are still gnarly looking...

 

Definately gotta be the whole import vs. domestic thing, which is straight up retarded imo. A nice car is a nice car, plain and simple. I would kind of like to get a focus SVT to toy around with, they cost too much though in the end...

Ya that is probably it. It doesnt really bother me at all I was just curious. Im not really into the whole street racing thing. Though it would be fun to blow away all the kids who think there cars are fast but really just have exhaust.

They are comparable in power stock vs. stock. My friend has a 2000 and I have a 2001 we are ALWAYS racing around. BUTTTT...since he ****ed his tranny up and his third gear takes a second to get into so I kick his ***.
