Default 1.6 with 1.5 injection??

I just got a 94 hatchback CX with a 1.6 D16Y7 engine in it. It looks like they kept the 1.5 intake and everything and just put the 1.6 block and head in. I am having an idle problem which I think it the IACV and will replace that. I am new to Hondas and am wondering if this will work properly or should I try and go back to the 1.5 block if I can find one? Is this a common thing to do?

It should be fine with those injectors and intake manifold. Don't replace your IACV. Clean it first, and if that doesn't help, replace it. There's a DIY on cleaning your IACV in the DIY section. It's easy.

Well the IACV is very clean but is not working. It will hardly start and if it does it "searches" for idle. I assume the searching is done by the fuel injectors and not the IACV? I have tried disconnecting the power from the car and letting the ECU "re-learn" idle but this does not fix it so I am assuming the IACV valve is bad. I pushed the screen out of the valve and can not move the plunger at all. Is this normal?

Is the CEL ON?

Before replacing the IACV, try bleeding the cooling system of possible trapped air, which can cause a hunting idle problem.

Have you already looked for a vacuum or intake air leak?
