Default Good Upgrades for 00-03 Civics

Looking to buy an 00-03 Civic, auto, 4cyl. What are some good upgrades for these cars? I'm not an import or tuner guy, I just need a good daily driver and I wanna build upon the good base it already has. I was thinking cold air intake, synthetic fluids, some kind of electronic performance, exhaust...what else should I be looking at? Thanks for the help.

Well if your looking to mod your car dont go with any of the 01-03 civics as they are the hardest to get power out of. I would look at the 99-00 civics if you could chose between the two generations. Also intakes and exhausts dont really add any noticable hp and if you do go the i/h/e route you probably want to get a 5spd. Otherwise just get an exhaust, lower it and make it look cool cause modding an auto imo isnt worth it.

Thanks. I'm pretty much just looking for a fuel mileage car and I ain't the greatest manual driver, so auto just works out easier. I pretty much want to do small things, no chance at forced induction probably won't even upgrade the suspension and wheels. Intake and full exhaust system will probably be my extent of mods. My current truck gets 12.5mpg and it just got me a citation and inspection ticket which is going to cost me a lot of money. I just want an economical daily driver.
