95 Honda Civic EX 1.6 L Hoses for Heater
I have a heater hose that needs replaced and I have never replaced any of the hoses since the purchase of the car in 1995. I therefore wish to replace all radiator hoses. When I went to Napa they said there were 11 hoses. I could not find them all. Their list is as follows:
1. Hose - ByPass
2. Hose - Heater (Valve to Engine)
3. Hose - Heater (Pipe 1 to Valve 1)
4. Hose - Heater (Heater to Thermostat)
5. Hose - Heater (Heater to Valve)
6. Hose - Heater (Thermostat to Pipe 1 - 5/16" D 14" L)
7. Hose - Heater (Engine to Throttle Body - 5/16" D 7" L)
8. Hose - Heater (Pipe 2 to Engine)
9. Hose - Heater (Valve 1 to Valve 2)
10. Hose - Upper radiator
11. Hose - Lower radiator
Does anyone have a diagram that shows where all 11 hoses are located, how to remove them, and how to remove and fill anti-freeze. Also would like to know where the thermostat is and how to remove and install a new one. Thanks

The best way to get a diagram is to go the dealer. They will have the breakdown and the part list to make it easy to follow where the hoses are located. I think it cost me around 100 bucks for all the hoses with the thermostat form the dealer. The best way to remove/install the hose clamps is to get a remote hose clamp tool from Sears. It will help to get around the strange angles of the hoses. After you removed the hoses, use a very sharp EXACTO knife to cut the hoses off at the connectors. Before careful not to force the hoses off the heater coil and valves. You will break the nipples off if you are not careful. The antifreeze will spill out when you remove the bottom radiator hose. Fill it up when it cold and let warm it up with the hot setting at the heater(ON) and without the rad cap. After three cycles of the rad fan, add some rad fluid. Put the cap on and and check for leaks.
What do you mean by connectors? You mention removing the hoses and then cutting off at the connectors? Then you mention not to force the hoses off the heater coil and valves. Are there connectors on all devices or only some of the items such as the valve. Also my owners manual mentioned bleeding the system. Please clarify.
Old hoses are hard to remove. The connectors at the heater coil and control valve are the most delicate. After you remove the hose clamp, take an EXACTO knife and make a couple of cuts the rubber hose at a ninety degree angle similar if you were peeling a banana. I remove the hoses the same way, its a lot easier than pulling or forcing them off. When you get the diagram from the dealer it will show all the hoses. The manual bleed is similar to my last sentence on my previous post.
