Getting into it

Getting into it
I'm a college student. Eventually I'm going to need a car. Since I have fallen in love with stick and have several friends with manual Civics (who say they never break down, are fast, safe and get good fuel economy- what more could you ask for?) I'm thinking maybe I'll get one someday. I'm also a fan of movies like Fast+Furious 1 and 2, gone in 60 seconds, Italian Job, etc. Meaning, if I'm going to have a Civic, why the heck not trick it out a little? First little things like intake and exhaust, and hopefully later bumpers and a new hood and a spoiler maybe.
That's my story. I have a request from you Civic geniuses now. I don't know a whole lot about cars. I'm willing to learn though, especially about Civics. Point me to some good web sites that sell Civic modding parts or explain about how they work or how to swap parts and why and when to do so. Who can help me become a Civic nut?

RE: Getting into it
First off, welcome to the site! Second, almost everyone here has some solid knowledge and know how when it comes to tinkering with these cars. One thing you're going to hear right away, is try to avoid body kits, spoilers, and things like that, that serve no purpose. I get the feelling that you are not looking to build a show car, so its better to go performance first, looks later. Do some exploring around this site, and use the Search feature at the very top to find threads that will answer your questions. Good luck!!

Welcome to the dark side!
You'll find more information within this site than most books will ever have.
Just think of a topic and hit the search button. If that don't help then ask.
And remember there is a fine line between nice and rice. Welcome aboard!
