I am guessing that a dealership is selling this? Meaning asking them about history is pointless? Usually, they just shrug their shoulder and only know what is going on with the car since it hit their lot.
I would be more concerned with the failed emissions since you are in CA. Check and see if you can find out what was done a few months ago to get it to pass. If that checks out, then I would look at the rental vehicle "issue" the autocheck reported.
However, with 37k on a 5 year old Honda Civic, I am sure you will be fine.

thanks
thanks for reply
yea the car is from a dealer,i checked the VIN by myself so i didnt talk to them yet,i know what they will say and you can never expect they are 'really' honest that i want to find out the real status of the car before i go to see the car
yea my most concern is the emission test too,i was trying to find out what exactly happened but i cant,so i posted this here and hope someone can give me any idea.
My friend told me to take the car to a honda factory or dealer and let them have a check before i buy it,but if they are all dealers,i wondered if i can trust them.
Another question that,i just found a very good deal which is a civic hybrid, but my friend said it would cost more to repair a hybrid than a civic while i searched online people say thats not true,i am really confused, anyone can give me an assured answer please
Thanks a lot
